James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

When we look through the mirror of the Word, we can see the Lord but yet not all can see when they look because many have been shrouded through the cares of this world.

What a peace we find. What a joy we see. What an intimacy we enjoy with the Spirit for He gets to chat with us but first we must see and for us to see, we must draw near.

The Lord crieth out, who is blind but my servant, you must grow to be a son indeed by drawing near to Him.

Seeking Him is evidently one way to getting to the very heart of God. God loves everyone but He has certain choices for the Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men TO SEE if there be any that did understand and indeed seek Him (psalm 14:2). Will you be one of those closer to His heart by seeking Him with all your heart DAILY and at EVERY single moment of your life?

If you want to be among those God is going to pay special attention to, then you must ensure you pay special attention to Him by seeking Him EVERY single moment of your life. I SAY UNTO YOU, SEEK HIM!

But remember, the apostles were first called to be with Him before they were sent to work for Him. Your WALK with Him matters more than your WORK for Him.

*INSIGHTS FOR TODAY: If you will not find Him when you seek Him, He would NEVER have asked you to seek HIM. THE LORD CAN BE SEEN. He Himself wants to be known. SEEK HIM*

Mark  3:14  And He ordained twelve, THAT THEY SHOULD BE WITH HIM, and that HE MIGHT send them forth to preach.

It is worthy of note to know that God places a very high priority on relationship with Him than service unto Him but the opposite is the case for man. Man places high priority over service to Him than relationship with Him.

We were supposed to serve God but the major focus of God is not to place serving Him first.

Do you know that Jesus knew His full purpose and mission on earth as at a very early age of 12(twelve)? But despite he fact that He knew who He was and what He came to do on earth right on time, did He jumped into the ministry? From the age of 12 to 30years old, are you saying people didn't die and go hell? Most people think God is in a hurry when it comes to recruiting and training armies for His kingdom.

God needed Jesus to save the world but Jesus Himself had to follow the due process and multitude have jumped the process of time and intimacy with God by going on to establish themselves, building houses and calling it church when the Lord still wanted them to spend time with Him.

Don't use anybody as an excuse, people are going to hell is not a yardstick for you to choose to serve God against building your relationship with God. He called the twelve so that they should first be with Him and that He might send them out to serve.

*Insights For Today: God has so much regard for relationship with Him and never you choose to work for Him unless you've FIRST chosen to walk with Him. Until your mind is made up to walk with Him, it is of no use spending time to work for Him.*

Psalms  44:17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.
44:18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;
44:19 Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.

Life will hit you real hard a times, life will throw on you heavy stones that if you're not careful, you will slip off the path of truth.
Life is good but before it gets so good it always gets so rough and tough.

The experiences before it becomes good are not always good, There may be severe rejections and frustrations before massive acceptance and breakthroughs but irrespective of what happens before the good of life becomes evident in your life, stuck your very life to obeying the word.

Live by the word irrespective of what is happening in the world, don't be moved by things but by the revelation of the word. Let your trust in God be heightened by the greatness of His power and let it not be that you lose trust in God's greatness because of your temporary circumstances.

Psalms 44:17-19 says, "even though so many negative things has happened to us, we still follow the word; even though we seem to be broken, our heart is not turned back from you neither have we have declined from the way of truth".

Always remember this promise in the midst of every form of storm, "weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning", this means that irrespective of the darkness that seems to shroud your life at the moment, light will always prevail, light will always shine. Even when you get to the end of the tunnel and there seems to be no more way out for you, He will come and make a way even if He will have to do that by boring a hole in the ground.

You will be tested with time, your faith will be tried, your patience and endurance will be tested but may you not fall or fail just at the edge of your breakthrough. Hold on and hold out because your time and turn has come. Hallelujah!

*Insight For Today: Hold on and hold out, it is your own time to rejoice and no devil can push it any further. Life will always throw stones at you but you decide what to do with the stones life throws at you. You can build a bridge with the stones life throws at you and use that bridge to cross the ocean (life's challenges).*

Luke  1:25  Elizabeth said, Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Mark  5:15 And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.
5:18 And when he was come into the ship, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed him that he might be with him.
 5:19 Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.
 5:20 And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him: and all men did marvel.

Yesterday, we saw that, the matter of reproach does not exempt the anointed. This mad man of Gadara that we read about in our text today had so much capacity embedded in Him, that is, God had ordained him long before the foundation of the world to take ten cities (Decapolis is a Greek word that means 10 cities), he was ordained to loose people from bondages but yet he himself was bounded by the devil for many years and was living in tombs cutting himself with stones.

 His ordination was to be a people's deliverer and a terror to the devil and to also take ten cities for God but yet, he was bound by the same devil he was to terrorize.

I don't know the kind of chain binding you down, I don't know for how long you've been in bondage, I don't know for how long you've been afflicted or even stagnated or buffeted, I don't know for how many times you have tried and failed but I have good news for you. God is setting you free today.

You may be ordained to feed nations and yet you are begging for food today. Remember, that mad man was not just to end as a laity or as an ordinary man, he was to end as a powerful man of God in charge of ten cities but he was caged. You may be a man of God and yet you are crying to God "when will my story change?" It is time to favour you says the Lord.

Today, the Lord is rewriting your story and giving you a new beginning. Your frustrations and stagnations ends now in Jesus name.

*Insights For Today: For your light affliction which is but for a moment worketh for you an eternal weight of glory while you fix your eyes not on things which are seen but on the things which are not seen. Your time and turn has come.*

Luke  1:25  Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein he looked on me, to take away my reproach among men.

Zachariah was a faithful servant of God for many years but yet, there was a strong reproach of barrenness upon his life. When his wife finally took in, she his herself for 5 months saying, "thus had the Lord dealt with me in the days wherein He looked on me to take away my reproach from among men".

Have you ever wondered how a man will be so faithful to God and yet have a reproach on his/her life? It is a thing of mockery and sadness. It does not only bring mockery to you, it makes you sad as a person any time you remember it but I can assure you by the Spirit, your own time has come today.

Are you born again? Are you faithfully serving God like Zachariah? Are you getting tired of your journey because of the mockery and shame that reproach has caused you?

Abraham was a man of God, he wasn't just a man of God but a Prophet and he wasn't just a prophet, he was a very close friend of God, he was a man God could not hide things from but yet he had a reproach for many years. The issue of reproach does not exempt the anointed. In fact, as an anointed man, you must have suffered a reproach in the past or you may be suffering one presently because everyone born of a woman has a reproach to overcome.

*Insights For Today: Reproaches are like yokes and there is no yoke that does not have an expire date irrespective of how long it had lasted. God is the deliverer, If He delivered His faithful servant, He will deliver  you.*

*_Prayer Point: Almighty Father, you're the yoke breaking God, let every yoke be broken and let every burden be lifted now from off me in Jesus name. Keep walking by faith_*

Joshua  5:9  And the LORD said unto Joshua, *THIS DAY HAVE I ROLLED AWAY THE REPROACH OF EGYPT FROM OFF YOU.* Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.


The children of Israel had already left Egypt, they had even cross the red sea and Jordan on dry foot and yet God was just removing or taking away their reproach. God said, "this day have I rolled aay the reproach of Egypt from off you", this meant that, despite the fact that the children of Israel had left Egypt and even crossed Jordan, the reproach, trouble and affliction of the first place they left were still on them.

This is the case for many Christians today, they have given their lives to Christ for awhile now, some may even be up to 3years or even more but yet they still sufffer serious attacks and for some, it is as if everything they were addicted to before they became born again was still in them and some keep wondering "but I am born again, why should I still be having these bad experiences and troubles?".

Remember, the children of Israel had left Egypt and even crossed Jordan before God said, "today have I taken your reproach from off you". I wondered greatly the first time I saw this scripture because this is exactly what is happening to many people today.

Many are even born again but they keep groaning and crying because of one affliction or the other and they keep wondering when they will come out of it. There is a good news for you. Today, God will wipe away your tears and give you a new beginning indeed. God is bringing you out of every captivity and breaking every yoke upon your life and destiny today in Jesus name. Amen.

*Insights For Today: God can give you a new beginning irrespective of how long you've spent in captivity.*

Mark  11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

God had made it in such away that you will always attract to yourself whatever you truly desire and insist upon.

Luke  23:25 And he released unto them him that for sedition and murder was cast into prison, *WHOM THEY HAD DESIRED*; but he delivered Jesus to their will.

Man's desires are so important that without it, Jesus Himself would not have been killed. Nothing can happen to you that you did not attract either through your desires or thoughts. Your desires are linked with your thoughts because both of them being two separate entity dwell in the soulish realm.

Ephesians  3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above ALL that we ask or THINK, ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKETH IN US.

Scripture also confirms that, God can give us everything we dare to think about. Job himself drew calamity to himself by allowing thoughts of losing what he has.
It is very important you know that, it is impossible to arrive in fear or it is impossible to fear or doubt what never crosses your mind. This means that, fear and doubt starts from thoughts and God is able to give you what you think or desire.

You have the capacity to attract whatever you desire. If you can desire it, you'll naturally attract it. One of the ways of making demands on what belongs to you is through desires. Just desire them and insist vehemently on having them and you will surely experience them.

*Insights For Today: life does not give you just anything but what you demand from it and one of the major ways to make such demands is through vehement desires.*

♦ *TOPIC: A DIVIDED HEART LEADS TO A WASTED DESTINY Part 2*

Hosea  10:1 "Israel is an empty vine, he bringeth forth fruit unto himself....
10:2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty:
 10:5 .....for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof that rejoiced on it, for the glory thereof, because it is departed from it."

So many people have destroyed their lives and destinies on the altar of temporary pleasure. See, the major undoing of Saul was that he allowed himself to be shrouded by this fact "I am in charge now, so no one can correct me". This further lead to the speedy truncation of his destiny. Watch it! Anytime you come to a point where no one can correct you or when someone says "this thing is not bad but it is not good for your destiny" and you snub or ignored such counsel, any time you come to that point, you're heading for a great crash.

People who truly want to fulfil destiny are few and the major truth is that things that makes for destiny fulfillment are seemingly small things which men ignore. You can't live the way you like if your destiny really matters to you.

If you're heady, you will end up being grounded. I have watched fire branded people fade away with time because they don't understand certain principles. I wept sore when I saw the outcome of one brother.

This brother had so much zeal and passion and at a point was serving in a very great church but he departed. I met him and spent so much time advising him on what to do and even how to live his life and I remembered sharing personal secrets with him on what has helped me but he was driven by a fierce wind of darkness and He slipped off and his destiny was put on hold.

No one needed to tell me his destiny was put on hold but I wept as I pray and ask the Lord to restore him or his seed back to that original plan of God.

When your heart departs from God, you will pay for it dearly and if care is not taken, your life will be taken in the process. Saul lost the kingdom and lost his life at the long run.

*Insights For Today: Everybody wants to fulfill destiny but only very few will fulfill destiny because only very few are willing and ready to do what it takes.*

*_Prayer Point: Ask for God's present help to do everything it takes in order to fulfill your glorious destiny. Keep walking by faith_*

Life does not consist in the abundance of pleasure. Life is not lived just the way you think or please. The major purpose of life is living your life to give pleasure to the giver of life.

 As long as you decide to walk and work according to His will, you must be careful not to have a divided focus. A divided heart leads to a divided and wasted destiny.
God had a wonderful purpose for Saul but when his heart got divided, his affection shifted from the Lord God and the outcome was that the kingdom was taken from him.

You will suffer great loses when your heart is divided. God has made man in such a way that there will always be a craving in man but when you decide to crave first for something else outside God, your destiny is at stake.

Did you started your journey so well with God? How are you doing now? Are you bringing forth fruit to yourself or to your maker?
You know Paul at a point became grieved after watching the Galatian churches. He said, are you people so foolish? Having begun or started in the Spirit, are you now made perfect in the flesh?

This shows us that, it is not enough to start well, it is not enough to start being very sound in the Spirit and it also made us to understand that, it is absolutely possible to start in the Spirit and end in the flesh.

*Insights For Today: My question is "Is your heart still rooted in the love of God or you have been driven into self just as Saul after becoming a king?". Retrace your steps before you lose your position and ultimately lose your destiny.*

*_Prayer Point: Dear Lord, help me not to suffer destiny breakdown. Father, I want to seek only you till the end of my life, help me Lord never to wander from your word in Jesus name. Keep walking by faith_*

Luke  19:42 SAYING, IF THOU HADST KNOWN, EVEN THOU, AT LEAST IN THIS THY DAY, THE THINGS WHICH BELONG UNTO THY PEACE! BUT NOW THEY ARE HID FROM THINE EYES.

Prayer is a most vital tool in breaking open your eyes and causing you to experience the glory of God. Haven't you wondered why Jesus Himself had to declare in lukey18:1 that men ought ALWAYS to pray.

One of the major reason as seen in Luke 19:42 is that, there are so many things you have to know in life which has not been made known to you.

The bible says, my people are destroyed not because of the availability of demons or devils or witches but because of the unavailability of knowledge. It was Bishop Oyedepo who said, "there is no mountain anywhere, every man's mountain is his ignorance".
Ignorance doesn't mean you're foolish neither does it mean you don't have any knowledge, ignorance simply means "shortage of knowledge or having access which is not complete or not having all the knowledge you need as a person".

If someone call you an ignorant man or woman, he/she is not in any way insulting you, such a person is only challenging you and placing a demand on you to build your knowledge base.

Life really has no regard for ignorant people. Jesus confessed in Luke 19:42 that the reason why His own people will not experience peace is because they are not aware or they lack the knowledge of the things that makes for their peace.

*If what you need is hidden from you then what you need in order to see them is to engage in constant and tireless prayer.*

*Insights For Today: Ignorance will always make you suffer unrest. But for you to know, you must pray.*

Exodus 6:3   And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them.

Have you ever wondered why Moses saw the side of God Abraham never saw? Because God Himself confirmed that there was a side of Him that Abraham NEVER saw.

Abraham was a man God couldn't hide anything from, he was that man that even when God wanted to destroy a place on earth, He had go consult him and get his opinion on it but yet, God had to hide a side of Him from the man that was this close to Him, this man was not only a prophet but was also described as a friend of God.

No matter how close you are to God, you will ne'er know certain things about Him or see certain things if you don't care to know them. If you don't ask, you won't see or get them.

Moses was able to access that side of God because even after Moses have seen and manifested so many things in God, he was still groaning and praying that he wanted more.

Hosea 6:3   Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
 If you don't follow on to know, you can never know. Certain knowledge are free but there are some others that are not free and thus, you are not permitted to know them until you follow on to know and ask tirelessly until you get them.

Abraham didn't know that side of God because he didn't bother to ask. Do you care to know?

*Insights For Today: GOD won't say "NO" neither will He push you away when you desperately desire to know Him more and more.*

♦ *TOPIC: GOD SEEKERS - AFRAID TO ASK? Part 1*

Luke  9:44 Let these sayings sink down into your ears: for the Son of man shall be delivered into the hands of men.
9:45 But they understood not this saying, and it was hid from them, that they perceived it not: and they feared to ask him of that saying.

James  4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, *YET YE HAVE NOT, BECAUSE YE ASK NOT.*

The bible said in James 4:2 that one of the major reason why we don't receive is simply because we don't ask. You could imagine how close the disciples were with Jesus and yet, Jesus made a statement which they could not understand and because of fear, they refused to ask Him and Jesus knew their mind but refused to answer.

And I began to wonder, was Jesus not going to answer them if they had asked? Surely, He would have answered but they didn't have enough boldness to ask and to confirm that Jesus knew what was in their mind, just the next few verses, they reasoned among themselves who should be the greatest but they didn't care to ask Him and yet He answered them. Why then didn't He answer that question?

Many Christians today are like these disciples, they are close to God but they are afraid to ask God to reveal Himself to them.

What Jesus hinted them was about His sufferings and death, they didn't have an understanding of it and yet they were sore afraid to ask Him.

God does reveal Himself to those who are not afraid to say "Lord, thank you for what I have seen and known but I want to know you more, visit me today, show me your glory,.........".

*Insights For Today: God won't shut you down when you genuinely desire to know Him more.*

*_Prayer Point: Ask God to help you, ask Him to reveal Himself to you in a new and mighty way (pray in tongues for about 30mins). Keep walking by faith_*

Ephesians  1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the RICHES OF HIS GRACE; Grace means unmerited favour.

If He could give us freely that which is of utmost value to Him, is there anything that God can't give to us?
Now ask yourself, is Jesus not more than wealth?
Is He not more than prosperity and affluence?
His He not more than all riches and abundance?
His He not more than all witches and wizards and devils/demons fighting you?
His He not more than the gifts?
If He could give us Jesus that is worth more than everything FREELY  (by His unmerited favour or Grace), is there any other thing that God cannot give to us freely?

The sacrifice of Jesus is a great sacrifice and no single sacrifice could be compared to it even before God the Father Himself. What an inestimable worth and price.

*Insights for today: There is absolutely nothing too big for God to give unto us. Ask and ask big. He will do it because He promised to do it.*

Psalms  30:5 ".... weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning".

Have you ever tried and tried and yet failed? Have you ever lost something very dear to you. I have to let you know that Peter as a skillful fisherman who also toiled all night and was mightily frustrated until Christ stepped in and turned the tide for him.

The widow of Nain didn't just lost a thing, she lost her only son. Her tears was more because her lose was great. Can you imagine the heavy pain of losing the only son you have after training and investing in such a child.

Even if you say, "your own is fruitlessness or fruitless labour", or are you wondering why you should be serving God and yet you're not seeing some results?

I have to also let you know that Zachariah and Elizabeth were not sinners but righteous and diligent servants of God, they were righteous and faithfully serving God but yet, they were barren. So don't allow the enemy make you feel like a sinner or don't allow the enemy make you feel or see it like God is unfaithful because you're going through a negative season.

Do not resort to weeping but have faith because there is no odd fate that can't be changed by faith. Be encouraged, weeping may tarry for the night but joy comes in the morning. Weep not!

*Insights for today: Irrespective of what happens, keep taking your stand with God and as you do so, He will stand for you in the days of trials and wipe away your tears.*

8:23 But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

Times and seasons will come in your life when it will look as though Jesus is sleeping. He will be with you but your experiences at those times will be as though He is not there at that moment.

It is at such times and seasons that multitude of believers compromise their standard and do go on to do the abominable.

Jesus was in the boat and yet the fierce storm arose and I think those who have been told or taught that once you're born again, it will be a smooth ride for you will readjust themselves now. A clean and smooth ride does not exist in Christ, what exist is the reality that irrespective of what kind of water or fire you go through, you will not be overwhelmed, neither will you be burned.

This is the word of the Lord to someone who is currently wondering why the storms or fire seems so intense. God is saying "I am with you irrespective of what you pass through and I will show index that I have not forsaken you by revealing my glory in you. All will see what I do for you shortly and glorify my Holy name" (Read Isaiah  43:1-2).

*Insights For Today: Your life will be sweet and things will change for you. He is with you and you don't have to keep crying. Weep not for the lion of the tribe of Judah has prevailed.*

Luke  7:12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
 7:13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.


When you begin to analyze the content of scriptures concerning the operations of Jesus and when you begin to critically view the responses He gave per time or His responses in the face of very critical challenges, you may either be mad or wonder orw glad at some of His responses.

For instance, according to our text, Jesus was coming into the city and saw a woman who was weeping profusely due to the death of his only son and after Jesus had demonstrated compassion he asked the woman not to cry.

If you look at the case of the dead child in Mark chapter 5 from verse 36 to 43, after Jesus heard what happened, what He said was "fear not, only believe". Another instance was when His disciples were in the midst of a very terrible storm, His response was "why are you so afraid? O ye of little faith".

When you begin to look at these few instances, you cannot but conclude that apart from Jesus having all the power to deal with all issues of life, He was a strange man with strange believes and dealings.

There was nothing normal in telling a woman who just lost his beloved son "weep not" nor is anything normal about telling people who are going through a very terrible storm "fear not".

One major lesson from these instances is that no matter how terrible, unchangeable or seemingly unbendable your own case may be or look like, you have no reason to cry, worry or be afraid.

*Insights For Today: Irrespective of what happens to you, be strong in faith giving glory to God seeing that there is absolutely nothing God cannot do.*

David said, I don't know for others but for me, I value your word so much than money.

Do you know that one major thing that contends with the heart of men for the love of God is money. Jesus said, you cannot serve God and the spirit of money. God didn't qualify the worship of God to any other idol than the idol of money. This goes to say that, there is a place given to money in the kingdom and money as a spirit has the capacity to take the position of God if you would submit yourself to it by esteeming it than God.

You can't imagine the unimaginable things that people do just to have money. The major atrocities in the world today can be traced to money acquisition.

I can tell exactly who you are by looking at your first priority when you have money. So many believers can let other things go but not money.

When you  value the word more than gold, God will give you everything that you truly need.

Those who esteem money have problem having money than those who esteem the Word.

*Insights For Today: Money is meant to serve you and not you serving money. When the order changes, you will lose your senses.*

Who could thought that, Peter after he had suffered severe frustrations and uncertainty would still have the capacity to  believe the word and yet experience abundance?

"The word you truly believe will produce the change you truly desire".

The word of God had been tested in tried, it is not known or associated to failure i.e there is nothing you can do to make the WORD itself fail. The word may only be made of non effect in your life but The WORD can never fail.

No matter what you've suffered and how hard life has bitten you, the word of God can still produce your own desired change if you choose to believe it. Peter as a professional fisherman suffered frustration and he ended up having more than enough because he still believed the word.

Beloved, even in the midst of battles, in the midst of intense uncertainties, in the midst of doubts and trials, just keep believing and declaring the word, because the word is the pathway to supernatural abundance. Peter toiled, he laboured, spent all his physical strength and energy but yet his strength, capacity and expertise could not produce for him the change he desired. The word of God is all you need to experience supernatural abundance.

*Insights for today: No matter what you have suffered, never loose your grip and faith in the word because the word of God has the capacity to cause you to experience supernatural abundance because embedded in the Word is the capacity to terminate frustrations and produce supernatural abundance*

Luke 4:13 And when the enemy had ended all the temptation, *he DEPARTED FROM HIM FOR A SEASON.*

Scriptures declare that, immediately after Jesus was full of the Holy Ghost, He was led into the wilderness to be tempted and after the whole temptation, the enemy only left HIM "for a season" this goes to say that, "the enemy will still come back again".

Most a times, we wonder wy we go through divers trials and temptations but that isn't supposed to be like that in order words, we are not supposed to be surprised or literally amazed that we are tempted or that the enemy tempted us because if he tempted Jesus just when HE was full of the Holy Spirit and not when Jesus was low in the Spirit. If He tempted Him, "why won't he tempt you?".

Please, notice that he didn't disturb or tempt Jesus until HE was full of the Spirit and had some needs that needed urgent attention.

Be very careful and sensitive when you think you're high because the tempter will always come around. he only left for a season, he's coming back. he only took off now in order to return back later on.

*Insights for today: If the tempter left Jesus only to return again, never you think he will just leave you alone and never bother to come back. he is going to and fro, be careful!*

Luke  1:5 There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judaea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abia: and his wife was of the daughters of Aaron, and her name was Elisabeth.
1:6 AND THEY WERE BOTH RIGHTEOUS BEFORE GOD, WALKING IN ALL THE COMMANDMENTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE LORD BLAMELESS.
1:7 And they had no child, because that Elisabeth was barren, and they both were now well stricken in years.

We have talked about the truth that says "unrighteousness brings affliction but it is also extremely vital we strike a balance by saying the whole bible truth. Apart from sin bringing affliction, the scripture has also made it very clear that you can be righteous and yet be afflicted or challenged. Zachariah was righteous but yet he was challenged.

We have a generation of people that tend to call you names based on the challenges you're going through. In fact, when people see you going through tough times as a believer, the first thing that comes to their mind will be that " this man/woman is a sinner". Even the disciples made such a mistake but Jesus made them understand that, it isn't always sin that attracts battles or causes afflictions or challenges but that you can also have challenges despite the fact that you're walking in righteousness (John 9:1-3).

From the book of John chapter 9 verse 26 all the way to 34 we saw this man that was born blind whom the disciples of Jesus perceived that the cause may have been that he had sin or his parents had sin. We saw that, this same man was a man that carried a mighty knowledge of God. He was teaching the Jewish leader who wanted to accuse Jesus falsely.

Zacharias and his wife had a flawless record. Their record of holiness and obedience were intact but yet, they were barren. It was the time that Jesus was filled with the Holy ghost that He was driven into the wilderness to be tempted. He wasn't driven into a place of dryness until He was full of the Spirit.

*Insights For Today:  Be patient enough to go through and never compromise your standards irrespective of what people say against you while going through. Stuck yourself to the truth even if you will suffer more afflictions for the truth's sake.*

*_Prayer Point: Ask for the power not to faint or bow to the negative suggestions of the crowd including fellow believers when you're going through unpleasant seasons as a righteous person._*

Going through tough times and seasons should not be a yardstick for you to listen to what people are saying against you. Jesus was fulfilling the will of the Father and those who were reviling and talking nonsense against Him were those who were teachers, preachers and leaders i.e the chief priest. These were not ordinary church member. These were likened to apostles, prophets and pastors today and I hope you know that it was one of those Chief priest that prophesied that "one ought to lay down his life for the others". So you should know they were spiritual men but yet they opened their mouth and spoke against the Lord who made them.

I wonder how believers get discouraged easily by listening to what a fellow Christian or church members are saying.
Multitude of believers have fallen into divers traps set by the devil himself in the bid to satisfy men. You must understand today that, it is impossible to follow what people say and end in distinction in life.

You will hear people make comments like, "what will my parents say if I choose to follow God, what will people say if I choose to do this, what will they say if I marry this person? What will they say if I pray too much? What are they saying? And so on..."

"What will they say and what are they saying" has stopped many from pleasing God and  it has quenched the fire of many fire branded men and women i.e many have been de-firerized because of what people will say or what people are saying.
Many were hot and doing the will of God before until they listened to what people are saying.

*Insights For Today: If what they say affects you then be ready to become exactly what they said even if it is negative. To be influenced by the negative wishes or words of men if to end where they wanted you to end.*

*_Prayer Point: Father, I make demand for your help not to yield or bow to the pressure of life or listen to what people will say (Charge yourself up in tongues). Keep walking by faith_*

Psalms 119:67 Before I was afflicted, I went astray... "

Wickedness is the pathway to backwardness. You can't be afflicted as long as you keep walking in righteousness. To choose crookedness is to end in defeat and shame.

Iniquity is a major enemy of destiny and apart from sin stopping you from fulfilling your destiny, sin also allows you to suffer multiple afflictions in life. The easiest way to escape affliction is to embrace the lifestyle of righteousness.

"Before I was afflicted, I went astray....". Did you noticed that as long as Adam and Eve were walking in righteousness, they could not be afflicted but immediately they dipped their hands into disobedience and unrighteousness, they were afflicted and till today many of us are still reaping the fruits of their disobedience or unrighteousness.

John  5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Jesus met a man by the pool of Bethsaida and after healing him, He said to the man "go, sin no more so that the worst won't come upon you". This showed us of how that sin is the root cause of afflictions.

If you don't want the enemy to look for you, don't touch his property. Sin is the enemy's property and you can't have that which belongs to him and he won't come after you and lay a legal claim on  you by afflicting you.

*Insights For Today: It is foolishness to meddle with sin because sin is the force that attracts afflictions and backwardness. Righteousness is key to enjoying supernatural abundance and escape from wretchedness and multiplication afflictions.*

Psalms  71:14  But I will hope continually, and will yet praise THEE more and more.

Praise is celebrating God for His help and magnifying Him for What He has done and this ought to be done continually as long as you live seeing that you can't be alive without His help and grace. The word of the Lord declares that God is gone up and we are made for one primary purpose which is to praise and celebrate Him.

Our life i.e how we live and all that we do should be an expression of the praise and glorification of God. David had amazing results in life because one of the major things he was addicted to was the praise and celebration of God, it seemed as though he lived his life as a permanent praiser and God chaser and thus he not only ended up in distinction, he also enjoyed massive divine backing or defense and leading.

He was never stranded for once, he never lacked what to do as long as he sought the Lord and every time he sought the Lord he always gets answer because he was a praise addict.
 Beloved, never live a day without celebrating the acts grace and mercy of God in your life and family. This will not only help you in life, it will also endear you to God in a great way..

*Counsel: Praise HIM continually. Praise HIM Without ceasing.*

Mark  11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

It is possible to have whatsoever you desire or want if only:
i. what you desire or want is the will of God and
ii.  if you have a great faith.

Whatever you desire that is according to the will of God can be obtained by you if only you have great faith.

Someone may ask, "but brother Judah, how can you say a man has a great faith?"

Well, if Jesus confessed that, the woman has a great faith then surely it is possible for men to have great faith.
After Jesus noted that the kind of faith she had was great, the next thing that happened was that she got exactly what she desired. It wasn't something else she got but exactly what she wanted.

It is possible to get or obtain exactly what you desire or want if only you have a strong faith.

It is possible if only you agree that it is possible and it is impossible to have great faith if you don't see the possibility.

*Insights For Today: You will always get what you want if only you have faith for that which you want.*

Hebrews  13:7  Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: WHOSE FAITH FOLLOW, CONSIDERING THE END OF THEIR CONVERSATION.

The most outstanding men on earth are not men that ONLY prays or fast or give or even work hard  but are men who have an understanding of every step and actions they take. Look at the contemporary world, people who have made the mark are those who have an insight into that which they are doing, if you can't see the end from the beginning, you can't achieve greatness in life.

This same principle applies in the kingdom. And it is so unfortunate that we believers want to see and get the same results men in the bible or people we have seen around us but we are not willing to follow and do that which they did and are doing.

And I begin to wonder, "how can you sow nothing and expect to reap something? Isn't that madness?". Almost everybody knows David to be a man after God's own heart and multitude want to be a man like David and have the kinds of results he had but people don't really have time to check the life of David to see what and what he did and why he did what he did.

This generation is filled with covetous people who are unwilling to pay any price in order to actualize that which the Lord had ordained for them.

We look at great people  and desire that which they have without going the extra mile in knowing that which they know so as to obtain the same results. Your understanding affects your motive and your motive affects the results you get. Bankruptcy of knowledge equals bankruptcy of results.
You can't near there if you don't want to follow those who are already there. Anywhere you're going in life, someone had already been there before, humble yourself and follow.

*Insights For Today: When you look at those who are there (at the top), never aim to get there until you've understood exactly the steps they took to arrive there. You can't get there if you have no clue on how those who are there arrive there.

Mark  7:9 And he said unto them, Full well YOU REJECT THE COMMANDMENT OF GOD, THAT YE MAY KEEP YOUR OWN TRADITION.

Jesus said, "full well you have rejected the word of God so that you can keep the tradition of men". There are many things men have instituted and put in place which they hold in high esteem than the living word of God.

For instance, some will say " this is how everyone in my family treats his/her spouse; this is how we do it in our tribe; in our tribe, we normally give birth before we marry to test if our spouse has a potential of giving birth; in our tribe, we always do it this way; this is how my father or mother always do this particular thing and I am supposed to do it also since I am not a bastard".

There are many churches today that are completely in OPPOSITE alignment with the word of God and people have willingly chose to follow church rather than the word. Flee from every church that is a shrine, God never asked you to bow for any graven image, flee from churches that do not believe in the reality of heaven and hell; flee every gathering that does not believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, flee from every church where they do not believe Jesus is the Son of God and He is our saviour, our King that is coming back again, flee for your life before it's too late...

There are even those who believe, it is impossible to have a home without crisis, where do you find in the bible that once you are married, you must always have crisis and beat up one another? " it I not found anywhere. The reason why such occurrences kept reoccurring is simply because many have programmed their mind to welcome such a demonic tradition.

These and many more are some useless, rootless, senseless and demonic traditions that men hold in high esteem. I don't care what that thing or thought or pattern or how that way of life is, if it is not consistent with the word of God  then it is a demonic practice and tradition. Many things that men practice and hold in high esteem are completely demonic and this is why many homes don't have true peace because you can't have peace if you do not welcome the presence of the Word who is the prince of peace.

How can you as a believer hold unto anything all in the name of "this is how we use to do it in my own family or village or clan, etc).

*Insights For Today: Don't lay aside the commandment of God all in the name of any tradition. You will enjoy true peace when you have the prince of peace.*

*_Prayer Point: Confess everything you have held unto that is not according to the word and make a decision today to detach yourself from such a lifestyle/tradition.. Keep walking by faith_*
