When you don't understand, Just Be still

Genesis  39:2 And the LORD was with Joseph..."
  39:21 But the LORD was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour....."
Psalms  16:11 "Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy.."

There are certain things in life that will happen and you won't literally know what to do. You won't know why they are happening and thus you can't easily think and say "this is what I ought to do". A times when such situations arrives, you can't easily pray as at other times.

Joseph was loved by his father but hated by his brethren. Was it his fault?
He found himself in the pit for no reason. He was sold out into slavery and from slavery he was sent into the prison for a cause he knew absolutely nothing about.

He didn't ask for everything that happened and I am too sure if Joseph had known ahead of time all he would go through, he would have prayed and prayed they never happen.

According to God's justice and plan, he was to step into Egypt and take over but according to his father's love, he was too precious to be left alone.  He would never have arrived on the throne of Egypt if he wasn't hated by his brothers. God knew no one else could help Joseph reach the destiny He had for him and that was the reason He had to stir up jealousy in the heart of his own brethren in order to push Joseph out of the house.

For a cause he knew nothing about he found himself in the midst of many contrary storms and situations. I know Joseph would have wondered why and I know too well that, there were times he would try to understand by asking what was wrong but in all these he was 'STILL' and waited patiently.

The best thing to do when you don't understand a thing God is doing is to BE STILL and remain unperturbed.

The only thing that kept Joseph all through those seasons was divine presence. I had experienced certain things that I couldn't even explain but I was only sustained by the aura of His presence. When I felt His presence with me I become happy. Then He unveils something entirely new to me and I would receive strength to overcome or go through. When you can feel or see Him around, you would never faint irrespective of the storms that rage against you.

What kept Joseph and enabled him not to give up was divine presence. And that was why it was written concerning him over and over again saying "and God was with Joseph, and God was with him....".

*Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to know that you are ever near. Open my eyes and heart Lord and cause me to feel your ever abiding presence in every situations of life in Jesus name. Keep walking by faith*
