DO YOU KNOW HIM? PART 1

By:  JUDAH  OLATUNDE

1 Samuel  3:1 And the child Samuel *MINISTERED UNTO THE LORD* before Eli. And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; there was no open vision.

3:7 Now Samuel *DID NOT YET KNOW THE LORD*, neither was the word of the LORD yet revealed unto him.

Why did Paul after telling us so much about God, after teaching and ministering to many about God, and after so much he saw  still said "that I may know HIM?"

The major reason for the confusion in the body of Christ today is due to the fact that many are busy preaching about the Jesus they have little or no clue about.

It is not enough to see things from the Lord or from His word, you must know deeply or understand what you see.
*SOME UNCHANGING TRUTHS YOU MUST KEEP VERY CLOSE TO YOUR HEART AND NEVER FORGET THEM:*

Many people serve God so much but yet they are not getting anything or they are seeing little results or proofs. You need to know these truths.

* It is possible to serve the God you do not know.
I had been preaching the word before I truly know Him even though I thought I knew Him by the reason of my hunger and access. I had been telling people about the Holy Spirit when suddenly light shined on me and I was wondering what I have been telling the people about the Holy Spirit.
No matter what you know, whenever you come into the Spirit realm and whenever the Holy Ghost moves on you afresh, you're like a new student learning. Though you may have grown but this time around into another class to learn more.

Samuel was ministering to the Lord and yet he didn't know THE LORD. This was why Paul kept groaning, "that I may know Him". If you truly understand certain things in God, you will see your need to know and see beyond whatever you have ever known and seen.

Jesus was referring to a prophecy by Isaiah in Mark 7:6 and He said "this people are so busy honouring me with their mouth, their lips is so sweet in singing, their mouth is so nice when they preach the word but yet, there heart is far from me".

I've found such people and I tell you they are many, they have no relationship with God, no time for God and yet they carry the Bible to preach. And I ask myself, "what will you go and tell the people? Why are we just busy deceiving ourselves talking about the Christ we do not know?".

Sometimes by the Spirit you can discern the spiritual state of a person and his/her fervency in the Spirit but God does not always reveal that to others, this is why you must be disciplined enough to guard jealously your walk with God. Stop wasting your time working for the God you're not ready to walk with.

Look at what Jesus said in verse 7 of that Mark chapter 7 "Howbeit in vain do they worship me...."
Jesus said, yes indeed you're worshiping me with your lips, I know you're worshipping me but that worship is in vain.

*INSIGHTS FOR TODAY: If you truly know Him,  your worship, prayer or service to God will never be in vain and NONE of your words will ever fall to the ground (Judah Olatunde).*

*_Prayer point: Father, guide me continually and help me to serve you acceptably in Jesus name.. keep walking by faith_*
