Luke 1:18 and 20 And Zacharias said unto the angel, Whereby shall I know this? for I am an old man, and my wife well stricken in years.
And the angel spoke to him saying, behold, thou shalt be dumb, and not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, *BECAUSE THOU BELIEVEST NOT MY WORDS,* which shall be fulfilled in their season.
1:34 Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
1:36 And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.
From the part one, it was established that Zachariah's words were not words of unbelief but his thoughts were thoughts of unbelief and God knows exactly what flows through your heart.
The Angel's answer was what really proofed to us that God was righteous by striking Him with dumbness. He asked for a sign and he asked out of unbelief so he got dumbness as a sign for his unbelief.
Mary also asked for a sign out of a heart of faith and she was given a sign of Elisabeth's pregnancy at old age. The angel gave her a sign the same way he gave Zachariah a sign but the reason why Zachariah got dumbness as a sign was because of his unbelief.
God is not pleased by sight but by faith, He does not see as man sees and this is why you cannot bribe Him with words when your thoughts are contrary to His will.
Many have been asking something from the Lord but have not received it due to the unbelief in their heart.
*Insights for today: God will not ask you to come tomorrow for that which you desire when He sees faith in your heart today. Your thoughts are as loud before the Lord just as your words (Judah Olatunde).*
*Prayer: Almighty Father, help me to align the thoughts of my heart with the words of my mouth that I may receive everything I ask in prayers in Jesus name. Keep walking by Faith*
